Chicagoland Job Creators Grant for Minority-Owned Businesses | $50,000

Founders First CDC's mission is solve the economic equity gaps that impact growth in small, minority-owned, employer-based businesses by providing training, grants and resources to support their growth to their communities.


Since 2015, they have helped accelerate the success of hundreds of small, service-based, B2B companies. The companies they support are run by owners who are committed to making an impact in their communities, as small employer based businesses, but have experience challenges achieving financial mobility because of lack of know-how, growth resources or connections. They have a focus on empowering these groups with skills, resources and networks to help them access growth capital.


Evaluation Criteria | Chicagoland Grant for Minority-Owned Businesses

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Founder identify as one of the following: Latino, Black, Asian, Women, LGBTA+, Military Veterans, located in a Low to Moderate Income area or you may not fall into groups but have an interest in applying for this grant

  • Must be a for-profit company with annual revenues between $100K and $5 million

  • Will have the ability to add 1-2+ net new premium wage jobs in the next 12 months

  • Current staff of 2+ full time employees

  • Must be located in the state of Illinois


*Businesses owned by founders who do not fit the groups listed on the eligibility criteria, but whose backgrounds are underrepresented in their industries are encouraged to apply and provide information about how the backgrounds and/or experiences of their owners would enhance the diversity of FFCDC’s program participants.​

Each recipient of the Chicagoland grant for minority-owned businesses will receive $50,000 along with access to an accelerator program that provides a combination of structured training, coaching, and introductions to resources and partners.
